Routine Inspection and Maintenance Methods for Turnouts

Apr 11th,2025 54 Views

Turnout Appearance Inspection:

1.Check that the machine cover and protective casing are securely locked and properly positioned for effective shielding.

Inspect the fastening of all bolts and screws by tapping them with a hammer to ensure tightness.

2.Verify that all bolts are properly secured, with intact and standard cotter pins.

3.Ensure that all insulation components are undamaged.

4.Check that all pins are properly fitted without excessive looseness.

5.Confirm that lead pipes are firmly attached to the ground and free of damage.

6.Inspect the cable box to ensure it is securely installed and properly aligned.

7.Verify that the sliding bed plate is clean, well-lubricated, and free of contaminants.

8.Ensure that all components are free of cracks, and that wear levels remain within acceptable limits. Corrosion on angle steel should not exceed one-tenth of its thickness.

Inspection of Specific Components:

Examine the installation of cotter pins.

Check insulation components using a small mirror for reflection.

Inspect the installation of flexible conduits.

Ensure that the cable box is securely installed.

Turnout Closure Force Inspection:

1.Perform a manual operation to check the macro-level closure of the turnout in both normal and reverse positions. Ensure that the unlocking force is not excessively high.

2.Based on the turnout's operational status and seasonal variations, conduct foreign object obstruction tests and adjust fault current as necessary.

Inspection of the Electromechanical Interface:

1.Check the stock rail-to-switch rail gap: 0mm

2.Ensure that the gap between the switch rail and the stock rail does not exceed 1mm.

3.Inspect the switch rail for creeping movement, ensuring it does not exceed 20mm.

4.Verify that the switch rail remains level, with no upward warping, missing plates, or broken sections.

Additional Notes:

The lateral misalignment of the switch rail should not exceed 20mm, and misalignment should be visible on the square steel bar.

For double-motor and crossover turnouts, standard procedures apply.  The switch rail must be tightly sealed, with square steel bolts and pins free from obstruction at the sliding bed plate.  Ensure that secondary and tertiary linkage rods are free from binding, with proper clearance during operation. Cotter pins should not obstruct the base of the switch rail.

Post-Operation Review:

1.Secure and lock the protective casing.

2.Conduct a manual operation test and inspect any gaps.

3.Verify that all tools and materials are accounted for, ensuring nothing is left behind. Confirm that all personnel have exited the track, with the station’s indoor liaison officer logging the completion of work.

4.Upon completion of all tasks, personnel should return to the designated indoor area or exit the work zone. The indoor liaison officer should leave the station platform accordingly.
